Good luck, Fred. If I could vote for you, I would. We need more dedicated public servants who know and understand the jobs they're applying for.

Mr Wellman, you "spent 22-years in the Army learning that nobody outranks the Constitution and service should be above self." And your ancestors and those of this country, including mine, who came here probably in the very early 20th C, learned the same thing. But nobody saw the clown coming. Or, at the same time, a Congress that sucked its thumb, and only hoped not to offend the clown, so it could get re-elected. Or a SCOTUS, a substantial enough majority of which was either in agreement with the clown, or somehow also afraid of him.

Nobody saw this coming. Everyone had the same understanding, which has turned out to be wrong. As we have come to recognize mistakes, like demoting Africans, or women, we have corrected those mistakes. In that Constitution we, and our, and your ancestors all told ourselves was the end of the problem.

The clown and the other occupants of the clown car have done extensive damage, because, contrary to your understanding, they put self far above the Constitution, which they dismiss, and service, which they avoid like the plague.

Here's hoping most of that gets corrected in November of this year. We will be liberated from the clown two years later, or when he dies: whichever comes first. It will likely take a good deal longer to solve our SCOTUS problem.

Yes - they said enough on behalf of a select fraction of the population of the Colonies.

They said enough with continuing the cash flow to a British king and having to deal with his annoyances in their affairs of state and property.

They said WE VOTE - white dudes with property being the 'WE.'

Everyone else - Fagetaboutit.

Here's my recommendation for how WE - everyone of us - reject the notion of 'independence' for a few thousand white misogynistic peso-oligarchs to trickle on the remaining 380+ MILLION of us.

You touched upon another whitewashed US history fairy tale about a British King as the boogieman because it was actually more romantic to gaslight folks into hating a monarchial figurehead instead of the actual threat presented by some of the grafting members in British parliament.

Link to the public historian below, who is also a veteran, enables the much needed context to explaining why our mis-taught and white washed history has landed us in a kakistocratic anocracy. This…instead of complacently and conveniently crediting Trump with our dirty laundry and abusing full benefit to embrace faux democracy for we the people.

My ‘touching on’ merely represented normativelore as recognizable context to indicate that the same shit is still happening, just with a different cohort of rich, racist, misogynistic, white folk.

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

…”#47 is not the anomaly of destruction to our constitution we keep giving him way too much credit for; #47 embraces the same power protection principles Washington and Jefferson embraced during their reign over an agrarian oligarchical empire.  And Lindsey, just like the majority of our legislative body, ensorcelled with our political industrial complex, also wants that power”….
