Wisconsin sends a message to Elon that he can't buy all of us
Crawford wins the most expensive judicial race in history
It looks like Susan Crawford will cruise to victory over Brad Schimel, a conservative judge who pledged to be a shield for Donald Trump on the court. With her victory the liberal majority will maintain control and very likely lead to a gerrymandering loss for the Republicans and a gain of two seats for Democrats in 2026.
The Democrats lost the two special elections in Florida but it looks likely they cut the Republican margin in half compared to just a few months ago and that should also send a very real message to the party. I’m not sure they will get it. They seem convinced they are invincible.
They are wrong.
The momentum is shifting. Elon dropped close to $20 million, including journeying to Wisconsin himself to give out ridiculous million dollar cardboard checks to hand selected Republican operatives.
For all that effort, he has lost.
Let’s keep piling on. There are national protests this Saturday, April 5th and more are planned. They need to know we are not letting the nation be dismantled without a fight.
