Harry Dunn is not who you expect
New York Times bestselling author and hero of January 6th knows what we must do
A towering good man
When you meet a six and a half foot police officer you might have certain expectations of them. When you learn what they went through on January 6th you may wonder how they face the world each day with good cheer and optimism.
Harry Dunn has managed to defy those expectations even after being a vocal proponent for justice and punishment for those who committed crimes on that day and those who remain untouched. He retains his gentle, kind, and happy good nature even as he manages the trauma of that day and carries on with the job.
I first met Harry in person last year. I found him to be one of the kindest, smartest, and truly genuine people you might meet. He’s still on the job protecting our elected officials and democracy even after the violence and anarchy of January 6th. He recently published a book, ‘Standing My Ground’ which goes through not just the events of that day but also the aftermath and his thoughts on how we can come together as a nation.
I found it absolutely thought provoking and heart felt. I am thrilled to have him on the show to discuss it and where we are as a nation at this critical moment. You won’t expect some of the answers he gives me when we discuss why more shots weren’t fired that day and what he thinks of those who came to the Capitol. This is one of those shows I tell you not to miss…and I mean it.
The show
Harry Dunn
Harry Dunn is a serving police officer who defended the United States Capitol on January 6th with his fellow Capitol and District Police officers. In the aftermath he has taken it on as his mission to tell the truth about that day, understand those who came that day, and make sure it never happens again. His new book ‘Standing My Ground’ is already a New York Times bestseller and is available wherever you get your favorite books.
Much love and respect, truly a hero for our Democracy, book ordered. 💙
Excellent discussion!
