Welcome to the On Democracy Community! Today the House GOP will meet to try and select a Speaker of the House candidate they can agree on with a dream of a vote in the House on Tuesday. We haven’t had a chat in a while so what better time to get together than as they GOP tried to dig out of the hole they’ve created for themselves?

Meanwhile President Biden is working day and night to build and hold together coalitions around the world and the Senate holds on appointments and promotions undermines our national security. All of this is occuring as election season is heating up so there is no end to the things we can discuss.

Bring your questions and I will do my best to offer my perspective from my perch in the nation and experience as a soldier and political consultant. Hopefully by the time we meet they have a Speaker of the House…or maybe not. Either way there will be plenty to discuss!

Mind your business

Separate topic, I tried to take a break this weekend with some nature and ended up running into this big bull elk in St. Louis County, Missouri’s fascinating and unique Lone Elk Park. I let him have the trail and carried on with my hike. One thing I’ve learned in this life is sometimes its just best to mind your own business and let others just enjoy their moment…especially when they weigh around a thousand pounds and have a rack of antlers taller than you.
