It's official...I'm in!
I'm on the ballot for Congress because our kids and working families deserve someone who will fight for them in Washington D.C.
Families deserve a government that works as hard as they do.
You should be able to work a full week and not lie awake worrying about groceries. You should be able to afford your prescriptions. You should be able to raise your kids, build a life, and retire with dignity.
You shouldn’t be afraid to open the mailbox for fear of the bills.
That is not too much to ask. It is the basic promise of this country.
Today, I filed to run for Congress in Missouri’s 2nd District because that promise is slipping away for far too many families.
I have spent my life stepping up when the country needed me. I went back on active duty after 9/11 and deployed with the 101st Airborne. When COVID hit New York, I drove to the city to lead a field hospital. When Afghan families arrived in St. Louis with nothing but hope, I helped organize support.
I do not run from hard moments. I lean into them.
Right now, Congress is not leaning in. Ann Wagner has been in Washington for nearly 13 years. During that time, costs have risen, corporate banks have thrived, and Missouri families have been told to wait their turn.
We have waited long enough.
I am running as a Missouri Democrat. That means I care more about your paycheck than party labels. It means I will work with anyone acting in good faith to lower costs, protect Social Security and Medicare, defend your freedoms, and make sure working families get a fair shot. It means showing up, telling the truth, and remembering who sent me there.
It means using my lived experience of losing it all time after time and picking myself up again to get back in the fight like Americans must do every day.
My experience and life is like no one in this race. No one has gone to war and suffered tragic loss and the scars that come with it. No one handed me my riches. No one is bankrolling my race. We are running with almost 15,000 grassroots donors from across the country who want to see change as much as me.
Filing is a formality. What matters is what we build from here.
This campaign is not funded by corporate banks or billionaire donors. It will be powered by veterans, teachers, nurses, small business owners, union workers, parents, and retirees who believe Missouri deserves better.
If you feel that pull to step up, step in with me. Chip in $25, $50, or whatever you can today. Volunteer. Share this. Talk to your neighbors. This district is within reach, and together we can win it.
We can replace complacency with courage. We can replace silence with service. And we can send a clear message that Missouri families come first.
I’m in. I hope you are too.
I need your help because I’m not done yet…and neither are you.
Let’s get this done.
