We will dive deeper into the story of the deportation of Mahmoud Khalil
More details are coming out
Yesterday I reported the shocking news that Columbia graduate Mahmoud Khalil was arrested by agents in civilian clothes reporting to be from the Department of Homeland Security. They pushed their way into the lobby of his apartment and detained him in front of his 8-months pregnant United States citizen wife.
Read my post from yesterday:
They told him his student visa was revoked and acted surprised to learn he was actually now on a green card. After his wife retrieved his green card from their apartment they told her on the phone that it was also revoked and he was whisked away.
Neither she nor his lawyers could find him for over 24-hours and he is now reportedly being held in a facility in Louisiana.
The questions are many
There are dozens of questions to ask about this situation and it is a very dangerous escalation by the Trump Administration against free speech. The basis of the First Amendment is that we are protected from government interference with our freedom of speech…even if that speech is something we don’t agree with.
I will update you on the latest information and try to answer your questions during this first livestream I’ve ever hosted exclusively on Substack.
I hope you’ll join me. Here is a calendar reminder for your Google Calendar:
