I had the privilege to join Jason Kander for his show ‘Majority 54’ on MeidasTouch this week. Jason and I have become friends over the last few years and especially since I returned to our home state of Missouri. He’s a real one and truly the best of us veterans.

As I was researching for the show I stumbled on to possibly the most depressing and ridiculous stories I’ve read lately about how many billionaires have been tapped for the Trump Administration. Would you believe they are now up to 13 declared billionaires for his incoming clown show?

According to ABC:

“In total, the combined net worth of the wealthiest members of his administration could surpass $460 billion, including Department of Government Efficiency co-head Elon Musk -- whose net worth of more than $400 billion exceeds the GDP of mid-sized countries.”

But even without Musk it’s still the wealthiest Administration in U.S. history.

Howard Lutnick nominated as commerce secretary, Linda McMahon nominated as education secretary, and Scott Bessent nominated as treasury secretary. Together, Trump's expected cabinet is worth at least $7 billion.

Trump's ambassador picks also include several billionaires, including financier Warren Stephens, who has been tapped to serve as the ambassador to the United Kingdom, Conair executive Leandro Rizzuto Jr., tapped to serve as the ambassador to the Organization of American States, Charles Kushner, named the ambassador to France, and Tom Barrack, named the ambassador to Turkey.

That’s even before we talk about the billionaires that are bending the knee visiting Mar-a-Lago and donating to Trump’s inaugural fund like Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Sam Altman.

Literally the definition of obeying advance.

The real President steps forward

Now we have President-elect Musk dictating to Congress how to vote on the continuing resolution because the most feckless House of Representatives in history has still not passed a budget in their entire two years in office. Are you aware that we are actually still operating on a continuing resolution from when the Democrats were in charge?

But, Musk wasn’t having it and is urging them to shut down the government.

This will be a disaster. You see a government shutdown doesn’t just inconvenience a few government employees. An estimated four million Americans and their families will find themselves without a paycheck for the holidays. The same time that millions of businesses rely on making their annual profits and closing the year in the black.

Servicemembers will work without pay. Government contractors will be laid off and many of their companies simply won’t survive the month long shutdown as what happened last time. I know of several friends who lost their businesses because they never got that money back.

I know from personal experience as I watched my daughter’s business in the Washington D.C. region struggle as the many military members and federal employees simply stopped spending money on non-essential things waiting for their paychecks. It’s not a joke and it’s not small.

This is joke though…the best part…it was made by Musk’s own GROK AI.

We have power

President Biden and Vice President Harris are in office until January 20th. They don’t own this mess but I would love to see them use their powerful pulpits to lambast the Republicans for bending the knee to Musk. I would love to see them gather the press in the Brady Room of the White House and torch Trump, Johnson, and entire feckless lot of them for screwing over millions of Americans for the holidays.

We all should be calling every single Republican member of the House and beating them right and left for their cowardice. If you don’t have their numbers you can call the U.S. House switchboard at (202) 224-3121.
