The insanity is spreading
This has been a week full of twists and turns telling us what we face ahead
Mental whiplash
If you follow politics you’d be forgiven for feeling like you woke up in the trunk of Dom’s car in ‘Fast and Furious 77: Super Fucking Ridiculously More Furious’. We went from one giant jump to a hairpin turn to a crash in the street leading to a fight on the corner. Cars are burning everywhere….and we have to do it again tomorrow.
I’ve been trying to wrap my head around how ludicrous so much of what we are seeing now truly is. From an airtight ruling by the D.C. Court of Appeals on Trump’s ridiculous immunity claim on Tuesday we then moved into the Supreme Court hearing on the Colorado ballot removal. Only to end the week with the spectacularly political and wildly stupid Special Counsel’s report on President Biden’s classified documents case that led him to an angry press conference last night.
Luckily scheduling conflicts meant my guest, Professor Austin Sarat, couldn’t make until Friday so we were able to take it all in. As always we didn’t necessarily agree on all of the perspectives on the events. He doesn’t feel that it was a mistake by Garland to appoint Republican Robert Hur as Special Counsel or that the Supreme Court Justices are acting inappropriately in the hearing. I disagree but I also haven’t been a professor of jurisprudence for decades.
Unfortunately that late taping means I am only getting it to you now on Friday night. I think you should check it out….and stay until the end.
The Show

Update
I offered a short update on Mike Flynn’s $150 million defamation case against me. We have filed our renewed Motion to Dismiss including asserting anti-SLAPP protection in light of Rick Wilson having his similar state case dismissed. Flynn is appealing case that but we aren't waiting to move forward with our case.
I will send out more details later this weekend but for now here is the link to our Legal Defense Fund GoFundMe. I am reticent asking for help but even with pro bono legal defense we have expenses and fees to manage to fight back against this assault on my First Amendment Rights.
I would appreciate your support. I will not get a penny from the legal defense fund. It will all go to my attorneys. Your help would be huge to me. Donate here: Defend Democracy Against MAGA Litigation.
Thank you. To help me directly in the easiest way you can upgrade to a paid subscription right here. I can keep up this effort with your support.
That special counsel report was a transparent hit job on President Biden.
Wow, just wow, the video of the young woman burning books and the MO politician claiming that rape is God's plan and God doesn't make mistakes. I saw this meme this week, "I've always heard people ask why God would allow so much suffering in our world. Maybe this year we should ask why we do." I don't blame God for hatred, rape, peoples' cruel, hurtful, mean-spirited behavior that allows and inflicts suffering on others. We all should look in the mirror and ask why we allow so much suffering. And for once Republicans should look at their cruelty and stop hiding behind and using religion, God, and their hypocritical pro-life stance. I'm so close to losing my shit over the GOP and Trump's attacks on democracy and their "low information voters".
