I spend Monday through Wednesday up in beautiful Cedar Rapids, Iowa with my colleagues from VoteVets and Win the Era to help organize a town hall with former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. It was a resounding success.
Pete brought in a standing room only crowd of over 1,800 folks to discuss issues around veterans and our democracy. It was a high energy day and I was thrilled to be part of it.
I had the privilege to run into several of you guys who told me you follow me, subscribe, and support my work. There are few things more humbling than meeting you guys ‘in the wild.’ Never hesitate to come up and say hello if you spot me running around. I love talking with you.

Too Late to Cancel
Too Late to Cancel is our Sunday morning show with a lighter take on the news, culture, and life. Each week we are live at 11:00 AM ET/8:00 AM PT with a range of guest from elected officials, journalists, actors, comedians, musicians, influencers, and more. We broadcast live on the On Democracy YouTube channel and all of my social media handles…and right here on Substack.
This week is an incredible show featuring an interview with Dropkick Murphys frontman Ken Casey on their support for Unite for Veterans, punk values, new songs, and the timeless quality of their values that started with them in 1996. That will be followed with another hilarious panel discussion with comedian Brittany Carney and Public Defender and Creator Eliza Orlins.

On Democracy is my “OG Pod” now exclusively on MeidasTouch Network every Friday night at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT. We are over 130 episodes in and going strong still. The show is a more serious look at the issues we face with journalists, elected officials, candidates, researchers, and more discussing current events and analyzing them one-on-one.
We have just moved from posting at 11:00 PM ET to our new 7:00 PM live slot. Tonight I am interviewing Congressman Seth Magaziner (RI-02) on his blistering interrogation of part time Homeland Security Secretary, and full time cosplayer, Kristi Noem. It runs as a live premier and I try to be in the comments chatting with viewers.

I have the good fortune to be the host of ‘On the Line with VoteVets’ for the incredible 18-year-old organization that is the leading voice of progressive veterans with the mission to elect more veterans and national security experts to Congress as well as defending our veterans, service members, and families.
I am regularly posting videos centered on veterans and national security to VoteVets channels and every Friday at 1:00 PM ET/10:00 AM PT I host ‘On the Line’ live on all the VoteVets channels. I update you on the news effecting our veterans, service members, and national security and talk with experts from across the nation. Be sure to go subscribe to their YouTube channel and stay up to date.
This week’s show was a roll up of the town hall we hosted with Secretary Pete I mentioned above.

On top of those regular efforts I am also proud to be an organizer for the Unite for Veterans, Unite for American rally in Washington, D.C. on June 6th. We will be bringing together thousands of veterans, supporters, and allies to let the Trump Administration know we aren’t going to quietly sit by while they destroy the hard earned benefits and healthcare of our veterans, fire thousands of us from our jobs, and destroy the Constitution.
We are bringing a wide range of voice to the stage that day and Dropkick Murphys will be performing live with their new songs. It will be a high energy event and you can learn much more at Unite4Veterans.org.
