Saturday interrupted
My fiancè and I were having a really nice midwestern Saturday this weekend. We were hitting the garden centers looking for new trees to replace a couple of small ones we lost over a brutally cold winter. Wandering around on our suburban errands.
As we stopped to grab lunch at a local favorite chain, I got a text from my MeidasTouch colleague Brett Meisales simply saying, “Making friends?”
…and this.
At first I didn’t notice the Vice President of the United States had Quote Tweeted me. I thought it was a meme of me dragging him previously, but it was actually a screenshot of where J.D. Vance had decided to pick out a random dude on Twitter and try to drag him to his millions of followers.
3 hours earlier.
That’s how much it impacted my life. I didn’t notice until my colleagues pointed it out.
That fact shows how stupidly petty and pathetic it really is. People like Vance and Elon think their social media activities are important. They think that attacking people, or as the kids like to say “dragging them,” matters to people like me who have actually led lives of substance.
You see the reason people like J.D. like to Quote Tweet you is so that it will unleash their rabid followers on the target of their ire. That move feeds them to their wolves ready to dive in and attack the paeon who dared question their greatness.
The problem is that the target has to care about people getting mad online. I kind of don’t anymore.
It really shows how stupidly pathetic and useless Vance and so many of the Trump collaborators truly are. They think photo ops, social media gotchas, and clever memes are important while actual people go about their lives without even noticing their vain attempts to matter.
Instead of doing their jobs and leading they are obsessed with how things look, social media battles, and ‘owning the Libs.’
Thanks for the boost!
One thing I learned long ago is that when someone like J.D. or the others in MAGA world attack you it always leads to new followers. The thing none of these fools understand is that thousands of people hate follow them and when they highlight someone who has gotten under their skin it only serves to boost their profile.
This was no different so I truly appreciate the boost and thanked him because I am a gentleman. But, this all begs the question of why attack me? Why would the man who is ostensibly the second most powerful man in the country that is the most powerful country in the world take time to scour Twitter about people being mean to him?
I didn’t even tag him in the post. I called him out for lying about our allies in Denmark and Greenland while standing in their country and using our service members as props to smear good people who fought by our side in Iraq and Afghanistan.
This is the post that set him off and what he said.
Notice…he’s not tagged in either post. So, the Vice President of the United States of America spends time scrolling through Twitter to see what’s being said about him and picks fights with rando’s who say mean things about him.
Can you imagine being so powerful that you have your own jet flying you back and forth for a measly three hour visit to drag our ally, military staff serving your every need, luxury armored vehicles specially flown in for you…yet, you’re so pathetically thin skinned you feel the need to surf Twitter for people criticizing you?
It’s just all so pathetic.
He’s also wrong
I won’t dwell on the substance of his argument because that wasn’t the point of my post. My point was that our allies came to our aid when we needed them and J.D. simply crapped on them as a guest.
However, let’s look at his argument that “these people” like me want Europe to be a protectorate of the United States and we can’t afford it with a $2 trillion a year deficit. No one I know has ever thought that Europe is or should be a U.S. protectorate.
Any student of history knows that the NATO alliance is one of the most successful in history. Using our collective strength we stared down the Soviet Union and its allies and prevented a Cold War becoming a hot one in Europe or here. We strengthened the world economy and boosted the U.S. to the dominant defense manufacturer in the world.
As I mentioned, the only time Article 5 was ever implemented was after the United States was attacked on 9/11 and our allies came to our aid to attack the Taliban and Al Qaeda and many also joined us in Iraq. When we needed help they came.
Finally, the only reason that Greenland has had a reduction in its defense posture is us. At one time there was some 16 U.S. bases on the island and troop strength was upwards of 15,000 Americans at it’s height during the Cold War and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
It was us who walked away. Shuttering the bases and leaving the toxic waste and empty buildings behind. Now we have a single base with a mere 150 U.S. service members and the Vice President has the balls to go there for just 3 hours and demand our ally do more for us.
Our deficit isn’t because of our alliances. It’s because these jackwagons insist on giving tax breaks to their rich donors.
J.D. went to Yale. He knows that.
The Fallout
Shockingly it seems people are saying shitty things about me on Twitter.
You know like literally every other day for the last 9-years since dipshit came down the stupid escalator and I had choice words for his racism and stupidity.
I was chatting with a veteran friend the other day about how things are these days for many of us who have stepped into the ring to directly push back against the Trump Administration. At some point it’s simply like life in Iraq. You simply get used to the fact that there is danger, keep your guard up, check your back, and carry on with life.
Without question the absolute best part of it all was when my Google Alerts popped with this shocking story from the Times of India.
I mean…I love that they name me in the headline like its a battle between two famous people and not the Vice President of the United States picking some random dude from the internet to try and drag.
Priceless.
I appreciate all of the new subscribers and followers that have joined our community thanks to his stupidity. I hope you’ll consider upgrading to paid while you are here so we can keep on holding this dipshit and his friends accountable for their attacks on our democracy and rights.
I’ll keep on doing what I do. Let’s keep up the fight.
Hey Fred- you’re the man when it comes to everything having to do with our veterans. It’s like Rick Wilson says: you know you’re over the target when they start firing up at you!! Keep on keeping on my brother!!✊🏼
It also shows that JD has absolutely nothing else to do with his time. Sad little man. He could have been an insignificant Senator for 6 yrs but he settled for being a dumb ass Mini Me to this petty dick-tater. People, STOP ELECTING STUPID PEOPLE!!
