I feel this so much. We are in a battle and everyone is running off into the woods scared. Is the other side doing this? Did they ever do this? NO. Every time their guy had a problem, they rallied around him and had his back even more. They are loving all of the hand wringing, the whining, the shit posting about Biden from his own camp. My God. Our guy went down and is being kicked in the face by his own team. If Trump wins its because our side is falling apart. Hold the line is right. I'm staying until the end. I'm not going to dream about another candidate who is going to "save us". The only people who can save us is US and sticking together until the end.
I stole this hashtag from a comment made on Jeff Tiedrich’s Substack today. Copy it and use liberally when appropriate which is now more often than not.
I also wish the MSM idiots would stop with all the panic crap, as well as the hand-wringing democratic leaders. Did they not see the huge cash inflow from the grassroots AFTER the debate? Are they ignoring it? It would seem that SCOTUS isn’t the I ly group totally “out of touch” with the reality and sentiment of those of us here in the weeds. Look back to Obama’s first debate performance, by all counts a disaster. The debate after which he was elected despite that singularly off night. He made a passing reference to it when he was speaking after the Biden/Trump debate.
I still hold out a slight sliver of hope that the media will change their approach but I don’t anticipate anything close to even a tick toward normalcy or true reality anytime soon. The sliver keeps diminishing with every major situation they cover. I keep hoping for an MSM comeuppance, as they stopped reporting news over 30 years ago and all jumped on board the “sensationalism is all we do now” train. This sensationalism crusade is the major reason I appreciate you and many others on Substack who still take journalism seriously and don’t use polarized/polarizing lenses.
Thank you for your article. I refuse to wring my hands and give up to despair. I’m not sure how I will maintain this stance, but I’m going to try. Do something every day that supports the people of America, that supports our government.
Last night I deleted all of my social media apps from my phone. I don’t want to spend another minute doom scrolling. My anxiety is through the roof. I’m going to keep informed by listening to people like Fred and the medias brothers and all that have a show with them. I can’t keep scrolling on social media. My mental health won’t survive is I do. I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve ever been afraid of losing our democracy. My gram lived through Hitler. She’d be appalled if she were alive to see her beloved adopted land sliding into fascism. Thank god she doesn’t have to fear living through that shit again. I fear for my daughters and my granddaughters.
I thought I was screaming into the void when I posted on FB and Insta about Project 2025. Even some of my most liberal friends were saying “this will NEVER happen here” and I said: yeah like they never built internment camps during WW2 right here in America or that actual Nazis and KKK2 had rallies in MSG and marched in Queens! MAGA is saying the quiet part out loud now and finally, FINALLY peeps are paying attention and sounding the alarm. It’s up to us to do something since the MSM won’t do squat. That’s pretty obvious. I finally feel that all that jumping up and down has been validated. I’m ready. I’m really scared but ready. And I’m really really angry that I don’t feel safe in my own apartment anymore! How DARE they?! So, I will take a book break and lose myself when needed but I will not run! I continue to let people-anyone-know what’s at stake. Any more advice?

I heard similar stuff on our local NPR station. I was horrified. Like, they've already thrown in the towel and Trump is going to win.
