“We have had basically the same two parties for over 160 years since. Maybe we need to accept that the Republican Party as a viable and reasonable political party has reached its end. We cannot pretend that a party that promotes taking away freedom of speech, restricting the rights of women to have bodily autonomy, controls what can and cannot be said by educators, and openly promotes violence while flooding our streets with guns is a respectable part of a Constitutional Republican.”
That said it all, to me at least. It bothered me every time I had to refer to the republican party(notice how I’ve written it here)because what I’m having to put up with today bears no resemblance to what my grandparents were in the ‘50s and before. This bunch is a nightmarish joke of an organization. The whole shebang and all it’s hangers on remind me of The Joker of Batman fame, out sowing chaos wherever he lands. TFG opened Pandora’s box and let a whole world of trouble loose. There was no way he would grow into his job. That wasn’t his job. His job was to do exactly what we watched him do for four long years.
Thank you Fred. Always so well informed. Always the realist in this fight against authoritarianism. Personally I'd rather try to hug a Bison than get anywhere near these extremists.
I was in Yellowstone last summer and remember the admonishments of the park rangers to "stay away from the fluffy cows". It never failed to amaze me how many people refused to do that, or that some even got out of their cars to take pictures of a wolf that happened to amble by..............

Well said. I sadly agree with all of your points.
