Blind and without forethought the Republicans rejoiced over the passing of a bill that will do far more harm than good. They remind me of the "Borg," from Star Trek. A group of alien cybernetic organisms linked together by a collective intelligence where free thinking was unheard of. What they just did to this country was horrendous in nature, and they didn't even consider using a condom. For the first time in my life I witnessed our government become the enemy of the people. History smiles upon societies that show great compassion toward their poor and their elderly. The schoolbooks that our children will use to learn from in the future will contain no smiles.
I wonder how long it will be until the truth comes out about the "bribes" perhaps paid for the passage of this bill.
They, and Trump, knew this had a huge potential to be career-ending for any Yes vote. Yet we're to believe these career politicians are willing to throw away a lucrative future for an autographed MAGA cap? Perhaps the ONLY thing more insulting than killing one's constituants is very likely being paid absolute crap to do it.
I suspect money changed hands, and enough to make up for numerous lost careers. (After all, it's not Trump paying it. If the money even exists! The bill now adds a 4.1 trillion deficit to be paid for by the sale of American bonds. The Senate has increased the debt ceiling to 5 trillion, to allow for this money to be raised. There is a 900 million dollar buffer to account for anomalies.
H.R.1, with Trumps Tariffs, are expected to bankrupt the federal government between August and October of 2025. The programs that will be affected include ICE and Homeland Security.
Trump is really counting heavily on these loans, represented by US Treasury Bonds. Most Americans won't have money to buy them. Most people outside don't want to touch them. Trump has basically screwed himself, just like he has in all his past business endeavors.
