A lot going on this week with the Trump indictment and what it reveals and threats from members of Congress for violence. I think it’s a good day for democracy personally and I’d love to chat. What do you guys think of all of this and what does it mean for the country? -Fred
I am very glad to see the indictment, although reading it made me physically sick. I think we as a country are in for more turbulent times but this needs to happen for the good of the rule of law. If we don’t have that we don’t have a democracy.
1) The indictment is damning in its detailed nature.
2) Republicans don't care. They'll support the Former Guy no matter what.
3) If anything, this will drive even more of his voters to support him.
4) I hope that Jack Smith has great security. Fox News, Trump and the Congressional Republicans are doing everything they can get to get that brainwashed base even more riled up, and I don't trust that "base" to not do something horrible.
That’s why I’m down here in Panamá. I’m too damn old to mentally go through the mess that I know without a doubt, he’s going to be doing. More than that, I currently live in the middle of a bunch of MAGAts who not only elected Madison Cawthorn but Mark Meadows before him. I’m just tired of all the BS that goes with tfg and if any more civil violence breaks out than is already happening, then all the more reason to go. Half of my immediate family is here so this is where I’ll most likely draw my final breath and I’m good with that.
I am becoming more and more convinced that Jack Smith had purposefully waited a couple of weeks to unseal the Trump Indictment, BECAUSE, if he had done it while the Debt Ceiling thing was still waiting to be voted on, many of the Republicans that voted for it, would likely have not, in protest of the indictment and thus, blown up the Economy...
I think that they need to take every single Trump Property (as well as his kids) apart with a high power microscope and scalpel, to look for ANY MORE documents, including ones that have been electronically filed. Even exhume his first wife's body from Bedminister's Golf Course and look in the Casket for anything that he secreted away.
He has had too much time to not have secreted stuff away in places as well as set up "Deadman Switches" for their release, if he doesn't get his way in the end...

Agree. I said the same thing today. This is a good day for democracy.

Agree and some are all but begging for them to do it like Clay Higgins and Andy Biggs.
Yes. More violence is in our future, I fear.
Yes. The calls for civil war/militia revolt are really disturbing.
They are all TITUS (Trump Insurgency in The United States - coined by Malcolm Nance).
First thing I thot off was a Nixon’s pardon. If Trump gets pardoned I will absolutely lose it.
God I hope not.
Talk about carte blanche for tfg and all his in place henchmen, that would be it.
These are scary times. This country is balancing between an authoritarian government and democracy. The balance could tip either way
Yep. We have to keep fighting.

I’m feeling like our democracy will survive.
Always

That actually makes a bit of sense. He's not stupid.

I’ve changed tfg to that fu*king guy.
