We are waking up to the specter of targeted political assassinations in America

Two Democratic state legislators shot

In a shocking turn of events we are hearing about what appear to be targeted political assassinations in the United States. This morning before dawn a person seemingly impersonating a police officer shot two leading Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) leaders in their homes and reports say their spouses as well.

Officials are reporting that Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman and former House speaker Rep. Melissa Hortman were shot in their homes before dawn and a massive manhunt is under way for the shooter.

We have just received confirmation that Representative Hortman and her husband were killed and Senator Hoffman and his wife are fighting for their lives.

Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and Sen. John Hoffman, as well as their spouses, were shot.

The area of Brooklyn Park is under a lockdown order as police scour the area and are telling citizens to not open the doors to police unless there are two of them together and clearly identify themselves.

Governor Tim Walz just announced that Rep. Hortman and her husband have died and Senator Hoffman and his wife are expected to survive.

New reports indicate that at 2:00 am a man dressed in police like body armor and clothes opened fire in Senator Hoffman’s home. He lives in an exurban area, Champlin, northwest of Minneapolis that is described by a friend as “Lake Woebegone” Minnesota.

Hoffman and his spouse were both shot and are reported to be fighting for their lives.

A short time later the shooter appears to have driven around 8 miles to Brooklyn Park where he entered the home of the former speaker and shot Rep. Hortman and her spouse.

Police exchanged gunfire with the shooter at the Representative’s home when they went to check on her safety at 3:30 am. When they arrived there was a police style SUV in the driveway with emergency lights on and a man in a police uniform and a badge emerging from the home.

When police engaged him he started shooting and fled the scene through the back of the house. They entered the home and found her husband dead.

They are searching for the shooter now.

We just found out that the Representative and her husband both died and that a “manifesto” targeting more elected officials was found in his vehicle. There was a list of individuals on the list. Police won’t release who the targets were but it appears to be a targeted political assassination.

At 5:30 am the shelter-in-place orders was issued across the Brooklyn Park area by police and residents were told a man impersonating a police officer was at large and considered armed and dangerous.

As mentioned above, residents are advised not to open their door to anyone and police will come in pairs. Even then they should call 911 to verify they are legitimate officers.

The suspect remains at large at this moment.

A horror show I didn’t want to see

I lost several Iraqi partners to assassinations. From my interpreter Bassam Sabry Yousef to my Joint Headquarters mentee Col. Ali. I always said I am just so glad that the United States doesn’t see that kind of horror.

Now we are seeing it unfold.

I urge you all to take precautions. Be aware of your surroundings. Don’t over react. We don’t know anything about the shooter or his political beliefs. I already have MAGA idiots replying to me on social media that they are positive he’s a liberal and it’s all a false flag or some idiocy.
