Incredibly good news out of the Northern District of California where Judge William Alsup ordered multiple government agencies, including Veterans Affairs, Treasury and the USDA, to offer fired probationary federal workers their jobs back.
This ruling is the a huge blow for the White House in the courts. It’s estimated that at least 30,000 probationary workers have been fired — a few federal agencies have called these workers back, but most are still not working.
Alsup'‘s order is effective immediately and he made it clear that it is not a Temporarty Restraining Order but a Permanent Injunction against these illegal firings that sited poor performance. ,
While brought by VA employees the agencies ordered to re-hire workers include the Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of the Interior, Department of Treasury, and Veterans Affairs.
