So let me guess what’s going to be done about it….Nothing as usual. One insane tyrant, running a fascist regime puts our country in jeopardy, bypasses Congress & starts a war and no one will even slap his little tiny hands.

We can upset his agenda via the budget.

Senate parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough has ruled that several key pieces of the Big Crappy bill to implement Trump’s agenda run afoul of the Byrd Rule and must be taken out of the package to allow it to pass with a simple majority vote on a special procedural fast track.

The parliamentarian ruled against several provisions under the jurisdictions of the Senate committees on Banking, Environment and Public Works, and Armed Services.

These included a provision that would have placed a funding cap on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), which would have cut $6.4 billion from the agency by reducing its maximum funding to zero percent of the Federal Reserve’s operating expenses. The funding cut would have eliminated the agency.

The creation of the CFPB was one of the central reforms of the Dodd-Frank Act that Democrats passed in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.

She also ruled against language cutting $1.4 billion in costs by reducing the pay of Federal Reserve staff, cutting $293 million by reducing the Office of Financial Research funding and cutting $771 million by eliminating the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

Thune is under tremendous pressure. https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/5360488-parliamentarian-rules-bill-trump-agenda/

House Republicans in blue states are extremely vulnerable. https://www.house.gov/representatives

Excellent response, thank you for that very well thought out and informative answer. It gives me a lot to think about although I am still hard-pressed to believe there will be any positive outcome from his term especially in light of the latest attack on Iran without congressional approval.

Is this finally the last straw that will get congress, etc. to get him out of office?

I didn’t make this up:

The combination of "murderous," "narcissistic," and "sociopath" describes individuals who exhibit traits associated with both narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) and antisocial personality disorder (ASPD), and who are capable of committing harmful acts, even murder.

Does this sound familiar? This is a sick, twisted, individual sitting in the offal office. All by his little evil, totally unraveled mind, has dragged us into a war. A war in which more of our troops will die because of this megalomaniac! And We the People can do nothing except watch in horror!

Repubs in Congress will rally round the Chief. I think the MAGA "split" iin the base is likely overblown by an eager media.

MAGA Mike is not the happiest pea in the pod. He’s a creepy little thing.

I’m watching MTN. Von Schitzinpants lied about the ceasefire. I’m shocked! 😱. I hope they do split. I’m inclined to be optimistic. I know there are some of them that still have a scruple or two left. But this BS about a ceasefire won’t go over well. What steams my clams is Congress doesn’t seem too concerned about the fact that dirty diaper Donnie violated the Constitution in a very bigly way.

And Biden is being blamed for this! There are Biden terrorists out there. Not kidding; out of the mouth of Ben Meiselas.

Perhaps a war with Iran provides the cover for domestic attacks against foreign enemies from within who could be anybody as no due process is provided. An attack on u.s. soil is the excuse needed to crack down. Folks need to stop assuming fair rules apply, they do not. There are no rules, and that is intended.

Yes, this is yet another step towards absolute power consolidation by Trump.

Trump has crossed yet another red line, and Democratic leadership doesn't even bother to pretend to be outraged.

This truly is just about all of Don the Con's ego issues, his bad lackadaisical parade, and his boring week. I am worried for all the reasons you've stated, as well as the worry on how much any intelligent help has been decapitated from DOD and other relevant agencies. The size of Iran, the population of Iran, the actual fucking terrain of Iran makes all of this a stupid idea to risk.

Are War Crimes still a thing? We knew when his little parade didn’t give him the dopamine hit required to ease his narcissism, a tantrum would follow. His level of insecurity equals his egocentric attempts at attention seeking.

Now he’s dropped us right in the middle of something and we are, once again, the world police, only this time there will likely be severe consequences and, unfortunately, our troops and possibly innocent civilians will pay the price on his behalf.

When will it end?

I am sixty five and my whole life, we seem to have been in unnecessary conflicts. And lots of my family have served in the armed force, so the veterans have recounted their experiences. Cuban missile crisis, Dad drafted because of that and served as a doctor, Vietnam,my uncle served, came back screwed up, secret bombing of Cambodia, that caused Pol Pot, Grenada, Panama,to get rid of our ally, Noriega, Iraq,to get rid of Sadam Hussein, who is pictured smilingly shaking Rumsfeld' s hand, Afghanistan, Pakistan had told us Osama bin Laden was there, but for some reason, Bush wanted to go there, and fight... now this! When will this lack of diplomacy stop and the craziness stop? And now, we might lose our democracy? Good God, please help us.

From Yahoo Finance:

JAMIE COX, MANAGING PARTNER, HARRIS FINANCIAL GROUP, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA:

“Oil is sure to spike on this initial news, but will likely level in a few days. With this demonstration of force and total annihilation of its nuclear capabilities, they’ve lost all of their leverage and will likely hit the escape button to a peace deal."

MARK MALEK, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER, SIEBERT FINANCIAL, NYC:

"I think it’s going to be very positive for the stock market. I believe that on Friday if you’d asked me, I would have expected two weeks of volatility with markets trying to analyze every drib and drab of information coming out of the White House and I would have said that it would have been better to make a decision last week.

"So this will be reassuring, especially since it seems like a one and done situation and not as if (the US) is seeking a long, drawn out conflict. The biggest risk still out there is the Strait of Hormuz. It could certainly change everything if Iran has the capability to close it."

what a moronic comment. Malek's background is all finance. He's a market booster.

The same thing could have been said and was said when we attacked Afghanistan. Does anyone think the US was seeking a long drawn out conflict in Iraq?

Nobody knows where this goes.
