It’s amazing how music ties us to our memories. You can remember exactly where you were, how you felt, and what you were doing. I’m glad you were able to remember this in a positive light and not allow the trauma to overshadow it. I’m glad you were able to traverse the grief to find love again. I’m sure Jenn would have wanted that for you.
“Move forward with joy not backwards with pain” – Love This and how you share even the small golden memories of your life. That bunny experience must have brought back chuckles for yearssss!!
My son and his new bride have started their life together in Newburgh so your imagery brought them to me in California for a minute, thank you. Following you now in The Long Gray Line, I hope my son always finds laughter, joy, and fulfillment as you have in the big and small moments, his wife being his greatest blessing.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Life is a roller coaster of experience, indeed. September is one of my favorite months yet also has its cloudy days. September 11, 2001 at the Pentagon is one such indelible moment. But I refuse to let it dominate and define my life. At 60-years old, the months are flying by and life is too short.
Beautiful story Fred. As hard as it is to accept, life is for the living. We have no idea what the next day holds, if indeed there even is a next day for us to worry about. So live today. Tomorrow will take care of itself.
P. S. Loved Jimmy B’s music. It always made me want to be in Margaritaville knowing that it was 5:00 somewhere.

How absolutely tender. Thank you for being a much-needed example of vulnerability, it is so generous of you to share that.
